Whitetail Deer Hunting in Canada
Another successful year at Camp Narrows Lodge for Canadian whitetail trophy bucks. Even with the bad weather that hit our area for the entire hunting season, the season still went very well. The hunting guides did there best, in terrible hunting conditions. The success rate was about 60%, although many big racked animals were passed up at the beginning of most weeks and not seen again, when the weather came in. All in all, it was a great year. We are located in Northwestern Ontario, just north of Fort Frances (right above Minnesota) and just south of Dryden and Kenora. Archery, muzzleloader and gun seasons
We offer two kinds of Hunts. We have tree stand hunting at Camp Narrows Lodge on Rainy Lake. This is a boat in location and has very little hunting pressure. This is available for early bow or muzzle loader season or for the first week of rifle season. You can also fish, duck or bear hunt at this time. It is a great combo fishing and hunting vacation. We also have the tent camp. This is located just north of Fort Frances, half way to Dryden, just at the top end of Rainy Lake. We are hunting a 3 billion year old volcano (check it out on Google earth, you can see the swirling of the island and the ridges at the top end of Rainy lake), which makes the area very rich in minerals, so the mass of the racks found on these deer is truly awesome. At the tent camp, you need to bring ATV's for transportation. We are hunting an extensive old logging road area. Many of the roads cannot be travelled by regular vehicle. Old growth forest, new cuts and grown in logging cuts are hunted here. Tree stands or ground blinds are used in this area. This is also for archery, muzzleloader or the regular gun season and the season runs from Mid September to the 15th of November.
