Ontario Duck Hunting at Camp Narrows Lodge, on Rainy Lake offers hunters an incredible unguided or guided duck or Canada goose hunting outfitters package. Our resort is located in Northwest bay of Rainy Lake. We are just north of the Minnesota, Ontario border and about an hour drive east of Lake of the Woods. Waterfowl flock to our area of Northwestern Ontario because of the abundance of wild rice. Our area of Canada has a large population of local ducks and geese, as well, we are located on the prime migration routes for puddle or diver ducks. Our guides can outfit duck hunts that fit all your needs. Hunting ducks in Canada, is abit different than anywhere else. The miles of unspoiled wilderness gives you lots of open space and very little competition for blind areas. Actually, one of our biggest problems is we do not have enough duck hunters to move the ducks around. (if you can call that a problem). You can set your blinds up along the miles of shoreline in the rice bays or just pull your boat into the tall cattails. Each of the bays are very close to the resort. We will show you all the spots to set up your decoys. We also have many beaver ponds located just off the lake. You can walk into these for some afternoon jump shooting. Ruffed grouse can also be shot while walking into the ponds. Speaking about grouse hunting, we have miles of trails located just off the waters edge. You can hunt ducks in the morning, fish or grouse hunt in the afternoon, and then go back to the rice bays for an evening duck hunt.

Canada Duck Hunting, Early Season
The early season in September is a great time for Canada Duck Hunting for mallards, teal, woodducks, Canadian geese, as well as some divers. These are all done over decoys in the many wild rice bays located within minutes of the resort. These give you the true canadian waterfowl hunting experience. Ganada Goose season opens on Sept 1. It is mostly an evening hunt, when they return to the bays late in the evening. We have a large local population of ducks as well. Beaver ponds and back in the rice bays with small sets of decoys is the best way. Duck season opens Sept 10th.

Ontario Duck Hunting, Late Season
Throughout October, the divers start to migrated south. Ringnecks, bluebills, buffleheads, goldeneyes, hooded merganser, redheads and the northern mallards all migrate through our area by the thousands. This is truly the time for fun. The sounds of a flock of ringnecks buzzing your decoys can't be beat. This time of year you set your decoys up off the island points or at the beginning of the rice bays. Depending on the weather and the time of year, the rice bays and ponds freeze up and the ducks all move to the lakes. Larger decoy spreads of diver decoys are needed this time of year.
Make it a Ontario hunting and Fishing Combo
You can also have a combo hunt. Add a deer or bear hunt to your duck or goose hunting package. Our part of Ontario, Canada is a great spot for trophy Whitetail deer or bear hunting. Fall fishing is also at its prime. You can fish Rainy Lake and catch walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass and crappie. September and October are probably the best time of year for crappie and smallmouth bass fishing. Crappies from 1 - 2 1/2 pounds are common this time of year. At Camp Narrows Lodge, you can experience almost everything the Ontario wilderness can offer. What a Day, deer or bear Hunt in the morning, fish in the afternoon, and Duck hunt in the evening.

To book your fishing or duck hunting adventure a deposit of $200.00 per person is required. For big game hunting packages a deposit of $1000.00 per person is required. Full deposits are required to confirm all bookings. The balance of your vacation cost is due upon arrival. A damage deposit of $25.00 is also required. No refunds are issued after March 1st.
