Fish walleye on the Ontario, Minnesota Border
Camp Narrows Lodge, on the north arm of Rainy Lake, is one of Northwestern Ontario's best kept secrets for Ontario Walleye Fishing. Our resort is located just over the border from International Falls, Minnesota, on the Canadian side of Rainy Lake. We are one hour east of Lake of the Woods. Fort Frances is the closest town. The resort is a boat-in, which brings you minutes from the best walleye, slab crappie, northern pike and of course smallmouth bass fishing Rainy Lake has to offer. Rainy Lake has turned into an incredible Trophy walleye lake. The structure of the lake makes it ideal walleye habitat. Deep drop offs, sunken reefs, gravel shoals, long weed lines all make it ideal to fish. If you prefer to fish on your own, we have great navigational Rainy Lake maps, which we can mark the hotspots. It makes for a great day. You can fish for walleye early in the morning, have a great midday smallmouth fish, and then fish for walleye in the evenings. We will be sure to share techniques and hotspots so your day out on the lake will be a great one. If you prefer to have guide fishing, our Rainy Lake Guide Service can take you out in either our 21' deep aluminum triton, with a 225 evinrude or our 20' Princecraft with a 90 Yamaha tiller. Either boat can get us to the best fishing areas, from all over the north arm to Ash bay to Red Gut Bay. We even do early spring fishing for walleye or sturgeon on the Rainy River. We can get you anywhere with comfort. The best fishing is still done within minutes of the lodge. The north arm of the lake has some of the best fishing in North America. Either guided or unguided, we will make sure your Ontario Walleye fishing vacation will be one to remember.
The Beauty of Rainy Lake Can't be Beat
While fishing you will witness some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet. Canada's Boreal Forest, holds 1/3 of the song birds in North America. Loon's, one of the largest eagle populations, white pelicans, and a large waterfowl population can all be photographed. Moose, bear, deer, and alot of water going furbearing animals are also very abundant. Our lake's shorelines are lined with large, very old white pine and norway pines. Add to it poplar, birch, and maple, the fall colors, while fishing are amazing. Bring your camera. Every time you go around a corner, there is something new to see.
Walleye fishing on Rainy Lake
There is a slot size on the Canadian side of Rainy Lake. 13 3/4 - 173/4 inches (35 - 45 centimeters) is the keep slot. These fish are perfect eaters. There is a trophy slot of over 27.5 inches, but we prefer you release all the big fish. Replica's are great now. With the introduction of smelt, the walleye have increased in length and definitely girth. They are truly hogs. Most of the walleyes you do catch are quite abit over the slot, but it is hard to complain that the "fish are to big".
Add an Ontario Whitetail deer, bear, duck, grouse or goose hunt to your Fishing Adventure During the fall you can also add a whitetail deer hunt, bear, duck, grouse, or goose hunt to you fall Rainy Lake fishing package. We are located right on the Northern Ontario migration route for waterfowl. Our area of Northwest Ontario, the Rainy River District, is also a prime area for Canada deer hunting. Trophy whitetail hunts can be added to any of our fishing trips. What a day, Duck hunt in the morning, fish during the day, and bear or deer hunt in the evening. As Canadian outfitters we can outfit all your fishing and hunting needs.
We welcome you to come and experience some premium Ontario walleye fishing. We have combined over 35 years of our own fishing experiences with techniques we picked up from our many guests from all over the States and Canada. We encourage all of our new guests to come and talk to us or to have a chat with any of the guests in Camp. This way we ensure everyone is catching fish.
